Textual analysis of 'Q' magazine contents page

The issue that i am looking at is from January 2010. Due to the change in decade, this has inspired 'Q' magazine to produce an article about the artists of the century. Therefore the main part of the contents page has been dedicated to the page numbers and advertisement of the article they have done about the artists 'Q' have decided are the best artists of the century. This becomes the main feature of the contents page. To show that this is the main part of the contents page, as well as the magazine, the writ ting is in a grey shaded area. The names of the artists are in red and any other information is in black. After each of the names, there is a small quote from the interview to hook the reader in and make them want to read more. They are quite witty and interesting.
Next to the grey box, is the list if the other things that are in the magazine. These appear to be regular uptakes which the audience will identify as the magazine brand identity. The title above the list is 'Regulars'. These are things such as mail and crosswords. Above the list of 'regulars' is a small image of the front cover. This helps to remind the audience of the front cover and what hooked them in to the magazine and what bits they wanted to read up on. On the bottom left of the page is the 'Q review'. A small article about one artist. Next to it is an image of an article in the magazine. The overall colour and tone of the contents page is that it is in keeping with the front cover. The same colours and fonts are used.
